Riteish Deshmukh
turns 36 today. The ace actor has had a superb 2014. With awards,
critical appreciation, family bliss and much more, Riteish is one actor
who truly owned 2014. Here’s why…
The outstanding comedian: Humshakals may
have been panned by critics but every film reviewer appreciated Riteish
Deshmukh’s performance. His comedy has gone from good to better over the
past few years and with
Humshakals he proved that even in a loose script a good actor can shine bright.
Member of the Rs 100 crore club: Ek Villain
may have had Riteish as the second lead, but it was his performance in a
negative role that got appreciation from all. Having been type cast as a
comedy actor, this film proved that there was much more to his acting
skills than great comic timing. He stood his ground opposite lead actor,
Sidharth Malhotra.
Marathi Mulga: Lai Bhaari may have been a
regional Marathi film but it changed Riteish’s image and that of Marathi
cinema’s. His acting was so convincing that people finally saw beyond
his funny antics and relate to his dhamakedaar action. His high flying
action stint made sure that his first Marathi film as an actor became
the highest grossing Marathi film till date.
In the Producer’s shoes: As a producer of
Yellow,
Riteish made sure that the quality of film was up to the mark. He won
the National Film Award for this film, which was widely appreciated by
not just the Marathi film industry but even B-Townies like Salman Khan
and others.
A proud parent: The actor was blessed with a baby
boy just a few weeks back. He and wife Genelia D’Souza decided to name
him Riaan Riteish Deshmukh. The joy and the pleasure of being a father
made this moment his best in the entire year.
What the future looks like: The actor has a superb line up of films in 2015. He is working with YRF for the first time in
Bank Chor. He also has
Bangistan, which is under Farhan Akhtar’s banner. He also has
Mastizaade opposite Sunny Leone and he’s all set to start shooting for
Housefull 3 alongside Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan.
With so much happening in his life and career, we surely Riteish has been on top of his game in 2014. We hope he has an even better 2015 and wish him a very happy birthday.
