How back are we in time?

Twitter and various other microblogging sites are flooded with criticisms against this ridiculously awesome show stating how All India Bakchod and the celebs in question are polluting the Indian culture by doing this. The Maharashtra Government too decided to probe into this and we have a whole ugly war trending as big as the AIB roast itself. And though Mr Perfectionist won’t have any release in 2015, the year is still going to iconic. Well, that’s because Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will all turn 50 this year. The PK hero will be the first one to blow 50 candles on his birthday cake followed by Gauri Khan’s hubby and lastly the Being Human superstar. Aamir will celebrate his golden jubilee birthday on March 14 whereas Fan actor on November 2 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan hero on December 27. Though I dunno what are their plans for the special occasion, I am pretty sure all three of them will bring in their 50th birthday in style.

But that’s not important as of now. What I really want to know is – which Khan looks sexiest at 50? Yes, its a tough call considering Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir have always been in great shape and have even sported 6 or 8 pack abs onscreen. Considering they belong to entertainment industry, its pre-requisite for them to look good and stay fit. But even that’s not easy because actors have to often change their diet and workout regime depending upon the kind of roles they do. In fact, with age its gets tougher stay to so fit .

However, that’s not the case with Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. They keep looking better or should I say hotter which each passing year. Remember the old adage, “fine wine only gets better with age,”? That’s how it is with these three Khans and therefore its hard for me to make choice. So Bollywoodlifers here is where you come into the picture. Vote and tell us – who according to you looks sexiest at 50 – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan?

After all they did manage to tickle our funny bone and present to us an all new fun side of Bollywood. So, we decided to help them out with suggestions for their next high voltage live show. Yes, we have a list of must haves on the AIB Roast that they can refer to when they plan their next show. Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and a few more who would do complete justice to their controversial chat.

SRK: King Khan’s sense of humour is legendary. This witty actor has miffed many and managed to make some mean jokes look cool. We simply love Shah Rukh‘s funny side. He can be offensive and yet palatable. If he was to be roasted the panel would not just have aa great time, but should be ready to take on some below the belt wisecracks.

Alia Bhatt: At Ranveer and Karan Johar’s Roast, the 2 States heroine was also grilled. We must admit she took quite a few punches on her chin with a smile. And after watching her at the event and her Genius Of The Year video that went viral on YouTube we’re of the opinion that she will not only enjoy but also rock the roast!

Varun Dhawan: From Karan Johar’s one student to the other; VD is one of the few B-towners who came out and appreciated the AIB Knockout. We hear he seemed to enjoy it sooo much that he’s dying to do it himself. We love the idea!

Riteish Deshmukh: He’s the King of comedy. Not just on silver screen, but on stage and in real life too RD has a funny side. No wonder then that he’s such a fabulous host. With Riteish on stage, we can expect some cool comebacks too.

Uday Chopra and Nargis Fakhri: Well, together or not this duo will make the perfect Roast contestants. While Nargis has a great sense of humour, which is visible in her Twitter posts, Uday too is wacky. And we’re sure the two will be the panel’s delight.

Saif Ali Khan: The Nawab of Pataudi like Riteish has a penchant for romcoms. Those in his close circles swear that he has a wicked sense of humour. This Cool Khan apart from his hosting stint has given us a sneak peek of his fun side on Karan’s popular chat show Koffee with Karan. With him being a participant in the Roast we can expect a laughathon. And if Saif and SRK come together, then we will not be surprised if their episode will break the internet!

Sanjay garnered a lot of critical acclaim for his believably venomous performance as the brutal Kancha Cheena in Agneepath. We can only expect Karan Malhotra to cast Sanjay in a character even more villainous that the last one!

While the lead actor and the main villain of the film have been finalised, Shuddhhi is yet to get its leading lady. Considering Salman is yet to watch his yaar’s latest release, Aamir might just get a chance to get his dost to catch his newest hit.

Sanjay Dutt - The PK actor is out on furlough right in time to celebrate his movie, Christmas and best buddy’s birthday. Dutt might just want to show his fitness freak jigri dost a dekho of his chiseled eight pack!

Shah Rukh Khan - The ex foes have been exchanging warm hugs and sweet talks in full media glare. Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor – who looks best opposite Salman Khan

Say what you want to, but when it comes to star power, Salman Khan has certainly beaten his contemporaries hands down. Ever since he has stepped in this industry, he has worked with several heroines.

So as the Dabangg Khan is all set to celebrate his birthday on December 27, we list down some B-town ladies, who have shared the screen space with him. Take a look and tell us who does Salman look best with:

Katrina Kaif - After her disastrous start with Boom, Katrina would have been shown the exit. Salman played white knight and introduced her to commercial fame with Sohail Khan’s production Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya?. The two then went on to share screen space in films like Yuvvraj, Partner, Bodyguard (item number). However, it was their chemistry in their last film together, Ek Tha Tiger, which got everyone talking.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - They came together only for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It was while shooting this film, love blossomed between the two in real life as well. Their affair was the fodder for gossip mills for the longest time. But then the duo had a very bad and public break up, after which they have maintained distance from each other. Masses have been wanting to see them back again on the silver screen together, but we know that won’t happen. But hey, let’s not live our lives without hope.

Kareena Kapoor - Be it for Bodyguard or Kyon Kii or Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Kareena certainly looks the hottest when paired with Salman. No matter how their films fare, the duo sizzle onscreen. Specially in Bodyguard, they set the screens ablaze with their spectacular camaraderie. There is no doubt about it. And now they will be seen together yet again in Kabir Khan’s upcoming film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which we are sure will be loved by all.

Jacqueline Fernandez - Salman’s Eid release Kick made over Rs 100 crore within four days of its release and catapulted Jacqueline Fernandez to instant success. Her chemistry with the Dabangg Khan was much appreciated. And the jodi was a hit among the masses.

Sonakshi Sinha - It is common knowledge that it wasn’t actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, but Salman who helped Sonakshi take her first step in B-Town. The two came together for Dabangg and Dabangg 2, which went on to create some massive box-office records. There is no denying it that it is only after receiving her first break opposite Salman, Sonakshi has a significant place for herself in the industry.

He won the National Film Award for this film, which was widely appreciated by not just the Marathi film industry but even B-Townies like Salman Khan and others.

A proud parent: The actor was blessed with a baby boy just a few weeks back. He and wife Genelia D’Souza decided to name him Riaan Riteish Deshmukh. The joy and the pleasure of being a father made this moment his best in the entire year.

What the future looks like: The actor has a superb line up of films in 2015. He is working with YRF for the first time in Bank Chor. He also has Bangistan, which is under Farhan Akhtar’s banner. Is Aamir Khan losing out on good projects because of his ‘Mr Perfectionist’ tag?

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this flick is set to release next week. While Khan is likely to end this year on a high note with PK, next year the versatile actor will have no release. He won’t be doing Satyamev Jayate either. In fact, he isn’t planning to direct a film as well. So its safe to say that Aamir will missing from the action in 2015. However, the scenario could have been different if Mr Perfectionist had not turned two offers. Yes, Kiran Rao’s hubby dearest was approached by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for their next production venture which would have brought Khan and Deepika Padukone together on the big screen for the first time. However, the Dhoom:3 baddie backed out citing creative differences and script issues. However, there is also buzz that the real reason behind the PK hero turning the Farhan’s film is remuneration.

Apart from this project, Aamir was offered a film by Karan Johar. The Dharma head honcho has been wanting to team with the Fanaa actor for the longest time. Johar even had few meeting with Aamir apparently the duo even worked on the script together but eventually Azad’s daddy dearest rejected the proposal and left Karan in a sticky situation. Had Mr Perfectionist said yes to KJo’s venture then we would have seen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aamir onscreen.

Yes, we know the Satyamev Jayate host is very picky when it comes to choosing films but then at times it better to trust the makers and go with the flow then sit back and fuss over script. And if Aamir can do a typical Bollywood masala flick like Dhoom:3 then and we are pretty sure what Farhan and Karan offered him would have been worth doing.

The film released on Friday and got off to a flying start despite garnering mixed reviews from the critics. Though officially the figures have not been announced, trade reports suggests that K.S. Ravikumar’s highly anticipated directorial venture Lingaa raked in Rs 16 crore on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. With this, Rajinikanth starrer has broken the first day record of Vjay’s recently released blockbuster film Kaththi. Well, the figures may vary a bit since nobody associated with Lingaa has till now announced the box office collection. However, industrywallas down South are sure that Rajinikanth’s film has had a record first day collection.

Also, Lingaa has not only fared well in India but abroad as well. Yesterday, ATMUS Entertainment, distributors of Tamil films in US, had tweeted, “#Lingaa thalaivar makes into 7th highest all time Tamil grosser of USA with just 1 day gross. Will enter top 5 today.”

Considering the Thalaivar has returned to the big screen after four long years, its not surprising that people are rushing to the cinema halls to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar. If Lingaa continues to rock at the box office then we are pretty sure it will enter the Rs 100 crore club.

Will Anushka Sharma steal Deepika Padukone’s numero uno position in 2015

Anushka Sharma’s last release was Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola which hit the screens in January, 2013. Since then Ms Sharma has had no release. This year too she has only film which is Rajkumar Hirani’s PK co-starring Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput. Since PK is touted to be Aamir and Hirani’s flick, not much has been written or said in media about leggy beauty’s role. While Mr Perfectionist may walk away with all the adulation and praise, Anushka will be to watch out for next year. In 2015, the babe has quite a few releases. In March, her first production venture NH10 starring herself in the lead will hit the theatres. Then in May, Virat Kohli’s ladylove will be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. In June, the talented actress-turned-producer will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’ much-awaited family drama Dil Dhadakne Do alongside her ex-flame Ranveer Singh.

While NH10 will isn’t a big budget film, Anushka is quite confident about her maiden production film. On the other hand, Bombay Velvet has been in the news ever since the project was announced. Since the PK heroine is coming together with Ranbir for the very first time, the curiosity around the film is very high. Not to forget, Kashyap’s directorial venture will also mark Karan Johar’s acting debut. Another reason why masses are eager to watch this flick. As for Dil Dhadakne Do, well, its a multi starrer but Anushka has teamed up with Ranveer for the first time after they parted ways romantically. Also, since the two share amazing onscreen chemistry, all eyes will be on them when their film releases in June. And we are pretty sure the duo won’t disappoint the masses as they have proved their mettle as actors time and again.

So overall, 2015 certainly looks like Anushka Sharma’s year. With interesting releases lined-up for next year, the Jab Tak Hai Jaan gal is all set to make a dhamakedaar comeback. While we don’t know the box office fate of these films, the talented actress sure has the potential to race ahead of her contemporary Deepika Padukone and become the number one heroine in 2015.

The two are often spotted on movie dates, they have been childhood buddies and they are also doing a movie together. Both keep denying rumours about dating and blame their closeness on their physical proximity (they are neighbours). While both Sona and Arjun aren’t bugged by what the people say about the nature of their relationship, Arjun sure seems miffed about the fact that some call their friendship a “publicity gimmick”.

Talking about his relationship dynamic with Jr Shotgun, Arjun says, “Sonakshi is my neighbour. This is the first time I’ve worked with her. I really got along with her and that just made it easy for us to be more than just social friends because we know each other’s friends too. We have stepped out for 10 films, but it’s just we have been snapped two-three times. It’s okay, it’s a small price to pay. The link-ups cannot be changed.”

Though Arjun is complacent towards being linked to Sona he further goes on to say, “The one thing I don’t appreciate is that sometimes people jump to the conclusion that these people are doing it for the film’s publicity. That’s the only thing that irks me a little…people shouldn’t assume that we are doing it for publicity.”

Well, we hope that this friendship goes the distance and we get to see a lot more of Arjun and Sonakshi together onscreen and otherwise.

Born on December 27, 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, he is the eldest of the Khan pack - two brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, and two sisters Alvira and Arpita (she was adopted by his family). Salman spent the first few years of schooling at the illustrious Scindia School in Gwalior, followed by St Stanislaus High School in Mumbai. Being part of a film family, movies were an intrinsic part of Salman’s childhood existence. So naturally during his growing up years he wanted to be a writer/director. But coz of his good looks Salman got into modeling which propelled a career in acting. Bhai, as he is fondly acknowledged by beloveds, made his first Hindi film appearance with a brief role in Rekha’s Biwi Ho Toh Aisi (1988), but it was the lead part in Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) that marked his arrival in Bollywood. He went on to do a series of films that retained his position of a hot star in the early 90s, but once again Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994) pushed his star status to the next level. Another turning point of his career happened with Prabhu Deva’s Wanted, followed by Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard which established him as the blockbuster actor in the early 2000s. Despite the weak story lines of these films, they turned to be the biggest grosser in the respective years.
