When the trailers of Shamitabh hit the tube, there was a promise of quality and looks like he has delivered on his promise so far. Our reviewer, Subramanian Harikumar is watching the film at a theatre right now and has sent us his first impression of the film.<br /><br />He said, “R Balki comes up with a breezy entertainer which tells a tale of a differently abled person Daanish, played by Dhanush. Daanish is mute by birth but all he can think about is films. When he grows up, he comes to Mumbai to become an actor but no one pays heed to a mute Daanish. Akshara Haasan comes to his rescue as she sees talent in him. A special technology for the speech impaired helps Daanish to speak by listening to other people’s voice. That’s when a bumbling drunkard, Big B comes into picture, who becomes Daanish’s voice. Soon Daanish becomes Shamitabh the superstar. But seeing Daanish becoming a superstar with his voice makes Amitabh jealous. The rest of the film seems to be about their ego clashes. Dhanush is wonderful as the mute Daanish; his expressions and eyes speak volumes. He is funny and extremely entertaining. Mr Bachchan is at his best as a drunkard with the dumdaar voice. Big B has some of the most funny and outrageous lines in the film and he nails each dialogue with perfection. Akshara makes a commendable debut, playing mediator between Amitabh and Dhanush. The film is funny, witty and endearing till now. Taking into the account the wide spread promotions and the buzz around the film, trade experts predicted a strong opening for I at the box office. Though the film was panned by the critics for a weak story line, the film had managed to silence them by making over a 100 crore at the end of the first week.<br /><br />Before the Vikram’s I had seen light, fans were comparing it with director Shankar’s Enthiran starring Rajinikanth, wondering if I could manage to out do Enthiran at box office. Looking at the box office figures, I would not rule out I’s chances of actually surpassing Enthiran’s figures. Though Vikram-Amy Jackson starrer did lukewarm business with it’s Hindi dubbed version, it’s Tamil and Telugu version made sure that Shnakar’s I rakes Rs 200 crore at box office in matter of three weeks. The film did exceptionally well at the international market, as I made a large chunk of its profit from US, Malaysian, UK, Canadian and Australian box office.<br /><br />Now the trade experts are wondering if I can actually beat Enthiran‘s box office collection, which was a whopping Rs 256 crore. With a big film like Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal releasing this weekend, it would be interesting to see if I manages to hold it’s ground at the box office. </span></div>

Last year was fantastic for Bollywood as all the three Khans – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir – not only graced the big screen but also got cash registers jingling and how. And though Mr Perfectionist won’t have any release in 2015, the year is still going to iconic. Well, that’s because Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will all turn 50 this year. The PK hero will be the first one to blow 50 candles on his birthday cake followed by Gauri Khan’s hubby and lastly the Being Human superstar. Aamir will celebrate his golden jubilee birthday on March 14 whereas Fan actor on November 2 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan hero on December 27. Though I dunno what are their plans for the special occasion, I am pretty sure all three of them will bring in their 50th birthday in style.<br /><br />But that’s not important as of now. What I really want to know is – which Khan looks sexiest at 50? Yes, its a tough call considering Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir have always been in great shape and have even sported 6 or 8 pack abs onscreen. Considering they belong to entertainment industry, its pre-requisite for them to look good and stay fit. But even that’s not easy because actors have to often change their diet and workout regime depending upon the kind of roles they do. In fact, with age its gets tougher stay to so fit .<br /><br />However, that’s not the case with Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. They keep looking better or should I say hotter which each passing year. <strong>The outstanding comedian:</strong> <em>Humshakals</em> may 
have been panned by critics but every film reviewer appreciated Riteish 
Deshmukh’s performance. His comedy has gone from good to better over the
 past few years and with<em> Humshakals</em> he proved that even in a loose script a good actor can shine bright.<br />

<strong>Member of the Rs 100 crore club:</strong> <em>Ek Villain</em>
 may have had Riteish as the second lead, but it was his performance in a
 negative role that got appreciation from all. Having been type cast as a
 comedy actor, this film proved that there was much more to his acting 
skills than great comic timing. He stood his ground opposite lead actor,
 Sidharth Malhotra.<br />
<br />

<strong>Marathi Mulga:</strong> <em>Lai Bhaari</em> may have been a 
regional Marathi film but it changed Riteish’s image and that of Marathi
 cinema’s. His acting was so convincing that people finally saw beyond 
his funny antics and relate to his dhamakedaar action. His high flying 
action stint made sure that his first Marathi film as an actor became 
the highest grossing Marathi film till date.<br />

<strong>What the future looks like:</strong> The actor has a superb line up of films in 2015. He is working with YRF for the first time in <em>Bank Chor</em>. Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his much-awaited film PK co-starring Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this flick is set to release next week. While Khan is likely to end this year on a high note with PK, next year the versatile actor will have no release. He won’t be doing Satyamev Jayate either. In fact, he isn’t planning to direct a film as well. So its safe to say that Aamir will missing from the action in 2015. However, the scenario could have been different if Mr Perfectionist had not turned two offers. Yes, Kiran Rao’s hubby dearest was approached by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for their next production venture which would have brought Khan and Deepika Padukone together on the big screen for the first time. However, the Dhoom:3 baddie backed out citing creative differences and script issues. However, there is also buzz that the real reason behind the PK hero turning the Farhan’s film is remuneration.<br /><br />Apart from this project, Aamir was offered a film by Karan Johar. The Dharma head honcho has been wanting to team with the Fanaa actor for the longest time. Johar even had few meeting with Aamir apparently the duo even worked on the script together but eventually Azad’s daddy dearest rejected the proposal and left Karan in a sticky situation. Had Mr Perfectionist said yes to KJo’s venture then we would have seen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aamir onscreen.<br /><br />Yes, we know the Satyamev Jayate host is very picky when it comes to choosing films but then at times it better to trust the makers and go with the flow then sit back and fuss over script. And if Aamir can do a typical Bollywood masala flick like Dhoom:3 then and we are pretty sure what Farhan and Karan offered him would have been worth doing.</div>

Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty’s film Lingaa has got cash registers jingling down South. The film released on Friday and got off to a flying start despite garnering mixed reviews from the critics. Though officially the figures have not been announced, trade reports suggests that K.S. Ravikumar’s highly anticipated directorial venture Lingaa raked in Rs 16 crore on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. With this, Rajinikanth starrer has broken the first day record of Vjay’s recently released blockbuster film Kaththi. Well, the figures may vary a bit since nobody associated with Lingaa has till now announced the box office collection. However, industrywallas down South are sure that Rajinikanth’s film has had a record first day collection.<br /><br />Also, Lingaa has not only fared well in India but abroad as well. Yesterday, ATMUS Entertainment, distributors of Tamil films in US, had tweeted, “#Lingaa thalaivar makes into 7th highest all time Tamil grosser of USA with just 1 day gross. Will enter top 5 today.”<br /><br />Considering the Thalaivar has returned to the big screen after four long years, its not surprising that people are rushing to the cinema halls to get a glimpse of their favourite superstar. If Lingaa continues to rock at the box office then we are pretty sure it will enter the Rs 100 crore club.</div>
