Saif Ali Khan plays an eccentric, seemingly shallow and womanizing writer of books in his upcoming film Happy Ending. Now when we saw the trailer first we were immediately reminded of the lead character from the popular American television series Californication. The leading man in the show, named Hank Moody shares similar characteristics to Saif’s character from Happy Ending.
When Saif was asked about this uncanny resemblance at Happy Ending‘s trailer launch he said, “I see why you would think that (that his character Yudi is similar to Hank Moody). But that (Californication) is cutting-edge writing and concept and we have made our film for a different audience.”
Saif clearly stated that he is not even trying to emulate the libidinous writer in his spoof on romantic comedies.
