Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam, Kunaal Roy Kapur starrer Activity Jackson is gradually and consistently climbing on individuals' personalities. The tune describes the days in the week and asks the sweetheart to get back ordinary as a sentimental motion. It doesn't have that appeal of Himesh bhai and won't work at all with the masses. Punjabi Mast: Sung by Himesh Reshammiya, Ankit Tiwari, Arya Acharya, Vineet Singh, Alam Gir Khan and Neeti Mohan, this is another wacky lyrical song. The lyrics, this time by Sameer Anjaan, proclaim that a Punjabi person is the best only after the sunset. The song’s music is dance worthy and will make you want to stand up and dance but the lyrics are the mood spoiler. The remix version of the song is no better than the original one.
Chichora Piya: Sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Shalmali Kholgade, this song is again not the typical Himesh song that you would expect. The music is going haywire and Himesh keeps screaming some random lyrics throughout. The music and lyrics seems to be that of a male item number but there is nothing in the song to jump up and dance. Again a remix version of the song and again, equally pathetic.
Dhoom Dhaam: Sung by Ankit Tiwari and Palak Muchhal, this song is the only song in the album which is worth a listen. The song has the typical Ankit Tiwari feel of soothing romance throughout. Palak Muchchal’s velvety voice is a good accompaniment. However, Sameer Anjaan’s lyrics could have been better as when you hear the name of the song Dhoom Dhaam, you wouldn’t expect a super romantic track.
Gangster Baby: Sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Neeti Mohan, this song seems to be the background score of the movie. The song is high on techno music beats and has some decent lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed. It maybe the introduction song where Ajay’s gangster avatar comes up on screen for the first time. However, the initial guitar strumming, which has come out really well, is actually copied from a superhit south song Adiye Kolluthe from Varanam Aiyiram (Starring Suriya and Sameera Reddy).
Verdict: Himesh Reshammiya seems to have stooped too low in the lyrics department, however, his music is still very dance-worthy. The romantic track is the only saving grace in the album.
