Millions of hearts were broken into pieces when news about Shahid Kapoor getting married to Delhi-based girl Mira Rajput hit the wires couple of days back. Word also had it that the duo got engaged on January 14, Makar Sankranti. However, the Haider actor chose to keep mum on this development, until today. Yes, at the ongoing HT Style Awards, Kapoor was probed by the media about his much-talked about engagement. Surprisingly he didn’t avoid the queries and instead confirmed the news by saying, “I’m not engaged yet but marriage is on cards this December. Please co-operate with me, I will let you know about everything soon.” Wow! Right from the horse’s mouth, as they say.
For those of you who don’t know, Mira is currently completing her BA Honors in English from Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College. Reportedly, 21 years old, Mira is a South Delhi resident and belongs to the same religious faith as Shahid. Allegedly, it was their parents who introduced them to each other and since then they have been in touch.
If you will remember, we EXCLUSIVELY told you how Ms Rajput wasn’t ready to to marry Shahid who is currently busy with Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial venture Udta Punjab. A very reliable source revealed to us that Mira was hesitant to take things forward with Sasha because of the age gap between the two. It was Mira’s elder sister who convinced her to accept the proposal. Shahid also did a bit on his part to convince Ms Rajput, we were told.
