thriller has already minted around Rs 95 crore at the domestic box 
office and is going rock going steady. In fact, Jr Roshan is even 
planning to throw success bash for Bang Bang which is the official remake of Hollywood film Knight and Day. Since the film has exceptionally well, we aren’t surprised that a sequel is in the offing. How do we know, you ask?During an media interaction, Bang Bang’s director Siddharth Anand said, “Sequel obviously zehn main hai but we need a good story. If you have seen Bang Bang
 then you know its also an emotional journey. Its a revenge film but its
 hasn’t been promoted like that. So the story is what compelled us and 
Hrithik to make this film. If we can get a story which can match the 
emotional depth then we can make Bang Bang 2.”

But why do we think Hrithik will star in the sequel too? Well, 
Hrithik too was present at the same media interaction and while talking 
about his future projects he said, “Next, I am doing Mohanjo Daro and then hum (me and Siddharth) bhi kuch soch rahe hain and main bhi kuch soch raha hoon so dekhte hain.”

Grapevine has it that Bang Bang grossed almost 27 crores on the opening day. Salman Khan’s Kick
 grossed about 26.30 crore on its opening day. However, the official 
statement is yet to come, it is pretty much evident that Salman’s record
 has been thrashed by Hrithik.

Kick, released on a non-holiday weekend and was happy to have no releases for the next two weeks, however, Bang Bang released on a holiday weekend but has got tough competition from Shahid Kapoor’s Haider, which is also doing great business alongside. Haider is also getting some great appreciations from the critics and that is making it even tougher for Hrithik’s Bang Bang.

Bang Bang has got mixed reviews from both audience as well 
as critics. But because of the humongous publicity of the movie it has 
had a great opening. However, Shahid’s Haider too has opened up
 to great viewership and it is assumed that it will grow even more by 
word of mouth. So for either films to break Kick‘s record they have to really impress the audiences, lest they will just die out in the gamut of films.</div>

Siddharth Anand’s big budget film Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the lead will finally hit the theatres tomorrow. But it’s not a solo release. Vishal Bhardwaj’s highly anticipated flick Haider starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan Khan is also releasing simultaneously. Since it’s a five day weekend (the longest one this year) both the films should ideally do good business. However, they both have their own advantages and disadvantages. While Bang Bang is a commercial film, Haider isn’t a conventional Bollywood film. And though a Vishal Bhardwaj film always garners critical acclaim, it never witnesses an earth shattering opening at the ticket windows. And this could very well be the case with his latest offering, hai na peeps? On the flip side, despite being not such a typical Hindi film, the Shahid-Shraddha starrer has managed to create great buzz. Also, the film’s music has been appreciated widely. Not to forget, team Haider left no stone unturned in promoting their film. As for Bang Bang, the promotional strategy of the film wasn’t really aggressive and neither did the lead pair go all out to market their action thriller. In this case, Bhardwaj’s revenge-drama surely has an upper hand. But the big question still remains – which film will race ahead in the numbers game? Well, wethinks the box office battle is well poised for now. Subramanian says “GAV tells the story of Balraju played by Prakash Raj, who is the head of a small village suffering from dearth of medicines and doctors. When his doctor son wants to move to America for a better life instead of serving the poor in the village, Prakash Raj severs all ties with his son. Years later, Balraju’s grandson, Abhiram played by Ram Charan, returns to India to reunite the prodigal son with his angry father Balraju. Once he reaches the village, he gets acquainted to the big family of Balraju and falls for his aunt’s daughter played by Kajal Aggarwal. Does Abhiram succeed in reuniting his father with his grandfather forms the rest of the story. The cinematography is brilliant and the film boasts grand production value. But alas same cannot be said about the story which is filled with clichés which we have already seen in multiple family dramas in the past. Prakash Raj gives a strong performance as an angry old man who doesn’t forgive. Ram Charan does a decent job but his expressions leave you with lot to be desired. Kajal Aggarwal aptly adds the oomph quotient in the film. The chemistry between the two leads is not so great.
